Data Science plays a vital role in Klarna’s operations in financial planning & analysis, building forecasting models to predict the future financial behavior of our consumers, which is a key pillar of the Financial Steering domain’s problem space. We’re now looking for a new data scientist to join the Volume & Receivables Forecasting team. The team’s scope is building, maintaining and developing forecasting models for consumer purchases, number of consumers as well as consumer purchase related line items on the balance sheet. As a (Senior) Data Scientist within Volume & Rec Forecasting you will:

    • Develop state of the art time series models, validate and maintain existing forecasting models.
    • Bring your ideas to production using AWS.
    • Be involved in the whole process of model development. This includes everything from data collection, data manipulation, model building, model monitoring, model versioning.
    • Work closely with several engineering teams and business analysts to find new and smart ways of consolidating data and making use of it in order to make better models and ultimately better predictions.
    • Be at the core of Klarna’s annual business planning and monthly forecast process.
    • Be innovative, cooperative, collaborative, open and have a flexible mindset with critical thinking, being able to dive into analysis of forecasted numbers.
    • Be curious and always look for improvements and best practices.
In order to be successful in this role we believe that you will have:
    • Working experience of time-series modeling and data pipelines.
    • An ability to bring ideas into production. Experience with Docker, Jenkins and Airflow is preferred.
    • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
    • Experience with and knowledge of Cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
    • Experience with AWS Batch, Lambda functions, EC2, and Step Functions.
    • A degree from a university in a highly technically numerate subject (e.g. math, physics, engineering or economics/finance).
Additionally, it’s highly advantageous to have:
    • Experience working in a commercial field such as e-commerce, retail or leading extended projects in these industries.
    • Experience from and/or a strong interest in finance and financial modeling.
    • Project management skills, being able to take a delivery end-to-end with high autonomy.
    • Stakeholder management capabilities, being able to push progress on key dependency deliveries.
    • Experience from working in google sheets and Qliksense.
